Dearest Friends,
We’re thrilled to resume in-person meetings of our weekly Sunday dharma talk and sit beginning April 3rd. On this date, we will begin meeting 4:30pm – 6:00pm.
We want to express our deep gratitude for your continued patience, good attitudes, and willingness to come together in the many forms that “together” has come to mean over these last couple years.
With that said, we want to reiterate ICD’s commitment to keeping our Sunday talks and sits available for everyone whether you’re joining us in person or on Zoom. Sundays will be streamed live weekly with the opportunity to participate in Q&A, and to see and be seen by the whole community both in the room and on screen.
This also opens us to streaming teachers who can’t join us in person, providing us with a greater diversity of wisdom from teachers far and near. For example, we’ll be having Spirit Rock’s John Martin streaming in from the Bay Area on April 3rd.
We’ll be meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church ofthe Desert, UUCOD is kindly renting us their space and AV equipment to make this possible. The address is: 72425 Vía Vail, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270
This won’t be your first opportunity to sit with us in person, as Ian Challis is leading a daylong Metta practice on Saturday, March 26th 10:00am – 3:00pm. See The Heart at Home, Loving What Is
Looking further out, ICD will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on Sunday, May 1st, 4:30pm – 6:00pm. This will take place instead of our regular weekly sit and talk that week.
We’ll be providing refreshments, and you’re more than welcome to bring your own treats. We only ask that you label them if they contain known allergens, gluten, or use animal products. We’re looking forward to celebrating YOU on this date, for your presence and practice. You’re the reason we’re here today, whether you’ve been with us from the start, or just found out about us, this is for you!
In short, here’s the bullet points:
- Sunday sit and dharma talk will move to a 4:30pm – 6:00pm time slot beginning April 3rd.
- Sunday will be offered as a hybrid session beginning April 3rd, meaning you can join us in-person at UUCOD OR continue to join us through Zoom.
- UUCOD’s address: 72425 Vía Vail, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270
- Other regular weekly events will remain on Zoom for now.
- Ian’s Metta Daylong is Saturday, March 26th! Register on on our website.
- Daylongs will be mainly in-person, with a Zoom element on a case-by-case basis.
- We’re having ICD’s 10th anniversary party on Sunday, May 1st, 4:30pm – 6:00pm. Come mingle with the community, bring a treat if you’d like! We’ll provide refreshments. There will be no formal sit or talk on this date.
Once again, thank you so much for your inspiring presence.
Looking ahead, together,
Board of Directors and Guiding Council
