Relax Into Presence
October 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Stop Trying So Hard! Relax into Presence with Natural Awareness and Wisdom
Discover open awareness, an easeful, transformative practice from cushion to daily life. It is helpful for those of us who try too hard to achieve something in meditation, those with restless attention that won’t settle down, or those who have trouble relaxing into presence, flow, and heart wisdom. Open awareness is a form of mindfulness practice that naturally integrates into daily activities so that every moment of your life becomes an opportunity for insight and freedom.
Cheryl Slean has been practicing insight meditation intensively since 1995, including hundreds of days of silent retreat. She was authorized to teach in 2007, and teaches dharma classes and residential retreats worldwide. In the secular mindfulness world, Cheryl has a Certification in Mindfulness Facilitation from UCLA and has taught at many community, health & wellness, addiction recovery and business settings as well as online with Mindful Schools. She has helped design research on the efficacy of meditation for chronic pain and developed associated trainings for healthcare professionals. Cheryl is also a writer, filmmaker and educator in the arts and sustainability, and is currently working on creative climate communication with the Natural Resources Defense Council.
