The Three Jewels: An Online Daylong Retreat with Jokai Blackwell
May 23, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Buddha (awakened one), Dharma (teachings), and the Sangha (community), together form the refuge of living Buddhism.
How do we bring these ancient teachings to life with ever more meaningful expression? Our practice of meditation cultivates the realization of awakening. In the midst of everyday activity, supported by our connections, we can take refuge in the three jewels of a shining practice, refining our ability to face the challenges of this precious life.
This day long retreat will include ample time for meditation and periods of restful silence as well as a dharma talk and discussion focused on awakening, teachings and community.

After completing formal study, encompassing over a decade of residential training and service, he received Dharma Transmission (full authorization to teach) in the White Plum Lineage of Zen Buddhism. Jokai emphasizes the direct experience of awakening using contemporary language and time-honored methods.
