You are warmly invited to join Louise Lambert at the Karma Café. The program’s intention is to provide an opportunity for individuals to share experiences and views on the challenges of aging, sickness, and death. According to legend, upon first having witnessed these inescapable human experiences, the young Prince Siddhartha—the future Buddha—found an impetus to begin his search for awakening, for a way out of suffering.

Today, those of us beyond our youth are also faced with these same challenges. And that is what led ICD to create Karma Café as a means of coming together in a supportive, compassionate, and caring environment to discuss these vital subjects. In a spirit of clarity, please note that the program is not intended to be a grief support or counseling group.

Cost: While this new program is free of charge, dana is welcomed to support the Center.

Insight Meditation in the Desert

 

Insight Community of the Desert is a Buddhist Center in the Vipassana tradition serving Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. We welcome you to our weekly meditation group and programs.

Mindfulness and Insight meditation lead to an open, joyful heart through the release of stress and suffering.

We offer programs for beginning and experienced meditators, meditation classes, daylong retreats, and weekly sitting groups. Whether you’re an experienced practitioner or you want to try meditation for the first time, please join us at one of our meetings or events.
