    In ancient China, there was a nun named Myōshin who was in charge of the guest houses of the Kyōzan monastery. Seventeen visiting monks were discussing the koan of the wind and the flag, and all had missed the point. In a strong and authoritative voice she said, "It is not the wind that moves; it is not the flag that moves; it is not the mind that moves." Upon hearing this, all seventeen monks came to enlightenment.
