Meditation and Dharma Talk with Ian Challis: Right Livelihood

“Bringing awareness to every moment, we try to have a vocation that is beneficial to humans, animals, plants, and the earth […] We should be awake to the consequences, far and near, of the way we earn our living.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
Please join us for this weekly meeting and teaching. Everyone is welcome.
For the next months, the Guiding Council will be leading the Sangha in an examination of the basics of Dharma. The Sunday Dharma Talks from June 13th – August 1st will focus on Walking the Eightfold Path: Extraordinary teachings for an ordinary life.
The Buddha taught the following eight elements as essential to realization:
- Right View
- Right Intention
- Right Speech
- Right Action
- Right Livelihood
- Right Effort
- Right Mindfulness
- Right Concentration
We’ll explore these eight aspects of the Buddhist path to enlightenment and how we can apply these ancient teachings to help us live our day-to-day lives more skillfully.
There will be time for meditation, a dharma (teaching) talk by one of our regular or guest teachers, and time for your comments and questions.
Cost: Donation basis, there is no charge to participate. Our center and teachers are supported by your generosity. Please give from your ability and heart.
