“Wise Intention”: Meditation and Dharma Talk with Jokai Blackwell (*In-person* & Online)

This hybrid Sunday Meditation and Dharma Talk will be held simultaneously in-person and live online from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Insight Community of the Desert will continue to be able to experience the gifts of sangha through in-person practice and teaching one Sunday per month. Upcoming in-person events will be held at Unitarian Universalist Church of the Desert in Rancho Mirage.
We will meet both online and in-person on the *third Sunday of every month at 4:30 p.m.* Our in-person meet up next month will take place on November 20th. Join us whichever way you feel most comfortable. Everyone is welcome.
Sundays in October & November: the Noble Eightfold Path
Buddhist dharma invites us toward the joys of liberation and peace. In our practice we incline the mind and heart toward freedom, and it is a gradual (yet sure) process with a path. The teachings offer us what the Buddha called the Noble Eightfold Path: eight interdependent and synergistic areas of practice that together lead us toward true happiness: Wise View, Intention, Speech, Action, Livelihood, Effort, Mindfulness, and Concentration.
Starting Sunday, October 2, and proceeding week by week, we will carefully investigate each location on the path as a deep teaching and uncover practical tools we can use right now to free our minds and hearts.
Today’s topic: Wise Intention
There will be time for meditation, a dharma (teaching) talk by one of our regular or guest teachers, and time for your comments and questions.
