Clear Seeing, Wise Response: Wisdom in Daily Life – Daylong Retreat

Who doesn’t want more wisdom in their life? This Saturday, Feb 4th, from 10AM-4PM, all are invited to join ICD teacher Cheryl Slean and her inspiring colleague Jennifer Carson for an engaging day of practice and reflection on wisdom in daily life. This unique workshop will offer meditation practices, reflections, writing exercises and group process to access and explore the voice of intuitive wisdom that’s inside us all. Together we’ll learn skills that can help us more reliably access compassionate wisdom and more effectively resolve life’s inevitable dilemmas. Come join us! All are welcome! Cost: The registration fee for this event is $45, part of this fee will be shared with each facilitator. A dana collection will be taken at the day of the event and as our practice, no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Registration Info Facilitators: Cheryl Slean, CMF has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 1995 and teaching since 2007. She is currently on the Teachers’ Councils at Against the Stream L.A. and Insight Community of the Desert, Palm Springs. She teaches classes and retreats at these centers and at other spiritual and secular venues including Seattle Insight, Mindful Schools, Refuge Recovery Centers, Santa Monica Hospital, Google LA, and many other health and wellness and business settings. She has a Certification in Mindfulness Facilitation (CMF) from the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. Cheryl is also a writer, filmmaker and educator working in the arts and sustainability, and is executive producer of VisionLA Climate Action Arts. Jennifer Carson has practiced meditation intensively since 2001, including about 250 days spent in silent retreat. In 2006, she completed the two-year Dedicated Practitioners Program of concentrated Buddhist study and practice through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. In 2008, she founded the sitting group that has become Stillpoint LA (www.stillpointla.org). She also holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics, teaches college physics, and recently completed her first novel.
