Larry Yang - Guiding Teacher
Larry Yang teaches meditation nationally, and has spent much energy to deepen Dharma teachings within multicultural communities. Larry is a core teacher and board member of East Bay Meditation Center (EBMC) in Oakland, CA. He is on the Teachers’ Council and the board at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Larry is trained as a psychotherapist and has spent six months as a Buddhist monk in Thailand. He considers retreat practice, family practice, livelihood practice, and householder practice all integral to a spiritual path towards Freedom. He is trained and authorized to teach by Jack Kornfield at Spirit Rock and the Venerable Ajahn Tong of Wat Chom Thong in Thailand.

Cheryl Slean
Cheryl Slean has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 1995 and studying in the Theravadan tradition since 1998. She has completed Spirit Rock’s Dedicated Practitioner Program and has been a teaching “local dharma leader” at Seattle Insight (SIMS) since 2007. She has offered meditation classes and daylongs at SIMS, mid-Columbia Insight (WA) and Against the Stream L.A., and in the health care community, including participating in research and education on meditation and chronic pain, stress relief and substance addiction. Cheryl is also a writer and filmmaker working in documentary and narrative film and media.

Lee Purser
Lee Purser trained in Tibetan Buddhism in Dharamsala, India for over 10 years with the Dalai Lama, Geshe Sonam Rinchen, Tenzin Palmo, Tsoknyi Rinpoche, and the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics. She trained with Pema Chodron for 3 summers. She has meditated for over 30 years, has been a student in the Theravadan tradition with Ajahn Amaro for 10 years, and has been on retreats in USA, Thailand, India, and Sri Lanka. She studied Zen at Bodhizendo in Southern India. She is certified to teach Cultivating Emotional Balance, a training initiated at the request of the Dalai Lama, has a PhD in psychology, has taught meditation and led retreats in USA and Asia. She is the author of Help Your Self. She currently leads 2 Dharma Groups in Desert Hot Springs.

Jim Gross
Jim Gross is a deeply experienced Vipassana meditator/mindfulness practitioner and teacher. For 40 years, Jim has studied and practiced world wisdom and spiritual teachings, with Vipassana practice as his primary concentration for the last 10 years. Jim recently completed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher training at Insight LA and is currently studying in Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders program. He offers mindfulness classes and group meditation practice in the Palm Springs area, including “Waking Up Fabulous!”, a weekly drop-in group at the LGBT Center of the Desert. (Visit Jim's website)
