SUMMARY:Learn to Meditate Online – A Practice for Troubled Times with Cheryl Slean
DESCRIPTION:The course will meet via Zoom video conference on Mondays\, April 6 – 27 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30pm PDT.  Subscribe to our mailing list for instructions on joining this online event. \nInsight Community of the Desert is offering a 4-week online introduction to mindfulness class that can be enjoyed right from home. Use it as a refresher or spread the word to your friends. Each class will offer teacher-led instruction and practice of simple but transformative mindfulness skills for calming anxiety\, reducing stress and finding resilience and balance\, even through the most challenging times. \nSessions will include live instruction and guided meditation for the first hour\, and interactive Q&A for the last 30 minutes. Each week will build on previous skills so we encourage attending all four sessions\, but drop-ins are also welcome. \nThe class is being offered as pay-what-you-can\, with no one turned away for lack of funds. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Class teacher Cheryl Slean has practiced Insight meditation intensively for 25 years and led classes and retreats since 2007. She teaches at meditation centers worldwide\, as well as in many health & wellness\, addiction recovery and business settings\, including 4 years online teaching with Mindful Schools. She has a Certification in Mindfulness Facilitation from UCLA and is active in the climate justice movement.
